Citipost Case Study
The Challenge
As one of the pioneers and leading names as regards high volume business mail deliveries, Citipost has recently turned to Envosort for upgrading its major distribution centre near London’s Tower Bridge.
Having initially made its name within the magazine publishing sector, Citipost has now spread its wings over other key areas such as time-critical newspaper fulfilment and distribution, catalogue and directory mailings, specialist financial and legal deliveries and downstream access services. All of which adds up to a continual flow of activity at the impressive 20000 square feet facility – created within the sturdy old Peek Frean biscuit factory.
The facility is cleverly designed and arranged to incorporate some 35 London post codes and 120 Royal Mail sorting offices, and reflects the latter’s “Walk Sort” system. In turn, Envosort made life easy by matching a lot of the existing Citipost equipment to the new Bank range of heavy duty sort units and benches – featuring all metal construction and scratch resistant HPL tops – and including special open base supports. Another notably special design features a mobile sort unit fitted with a collapsible shelf to serve as a work surface for incoming post. The overall effect is of a sea of equipment which all neatly integrates with each other.
