Royal Bournemouth Hospital Case Study

Healthy Progress

If ever there is a place where an efficient mailroom is essential then it is a hospital – especially a large general hospital – and a recent project between The Royal Bournemouth and Envosort is a prime example.

With space of course at a premium, the allocated area on the edge of the ground floor is small in area bit had to deliver – as it were – on all points, in terms of accurate flow of mail, optimum use of time and the morale of the staff.

Instigated via Envosort’s free design and consultancy service, the equipment portfolio is based around their robust and modern looking Series 90 benches in a variety of configurations, combined with distinctive, modular Flexibuild sorting units in a pleasing light blue finish.

The new interior is very user friendly and so much easier to work with than our previous system. We have major responsibility here, with some 4500 Trust staff spread over 300 departments plus all of the GP clinics in the area. In just under a year we have already handled over half a million items of post. Everything is running as it should be, and the light blue units for example allow for easy air flow and even a single envelope on its own stands out. The health and safety aspects are also very good, especially the raised plinths for the sorting units. The Envosort people were very helpful and they certainly know what they are about. I do feel that now we are properly recognised for the crucial role that we have here
