CMCS Disaster Recovery Case Study
The Challenge
CMCS -based in Droitwich- is very much a company of our time. It specialises in the niche field of providing full Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Services, and has now added an extensive manual sortation facility for inbound mail, via the equally specialist name of Envosort.
Under one roof, CMCS provides a complete extension of the core transactional systems of the key names in the financial sector, numbering over 50 major names which in turn embrace three to four times that number in terms of distinct brand names.
The company was created via a recognised perception by the industry to optimise its technology and output resources by virtue of outsourcing the responsibility in to the cost-effective facility of a dedicated provider for critical mail flow, as well as complying with the Government requirement for major companies to provide external back up in order to protect large scale employment. As such, CMCS is geared for all manner of support activities embracing, for example, dealing with peak periods; machine or software failures; heavy absenteeism with holiday times or illness; and refurbishment of client premises. The company provides a turnkey single source for printing, inserting and customised finishing of documents – all geared to ensuring no concerns for clients as regards lost cash flow, missed Direct Debits or administrative problems.
The recent mailing facility came about by virtue of providing an extra dimension to a leading bank’s call centre which allows for teams of bank staff to be accommodated for tactical sales campaigns via telephone and computer, and then dispatching the resultant paperwork to external departments and locations countrywide. It also represents one of the largest and most comprehensive installations ever undertaken by Envosort – and consists of no less than 76 of the elegant heavy duty Series 90 height adjustable benching, 230 separate Flexibuild sort units and 60 ergonomic operators’ chairs.
